Moving people out of poverty with the MBS Course and Self-Reliance Groups
Through the MBS Course and Self-Reliance Groups, participants gain real-world financial literacy and learn how to manage their businesses with confidence. Before joining the course, only 40% of participants kept business records—but after completing it, 93% report consistent record-keeping. This powerful shift, backed by over 117,000 responses, shows how practical tools and community support lead to lasting change.

Our work spans across dozens of countries, empowering individuals with the tools to lift themselves and others out of poverty. Through our Master of Business in the Streets (MBS) course, thousands have learned to start and grow their own small businesses. Many graduates go on to become Success Ambassadors – local leaders facilitating this self-reliance course in their own communities. Our reach also extends to wellness facilitators and peer counselors, who guide others toward emotional resilience and stability.
